La Grand’Cour is a charming castle in Mornay-Berry, in the Cher department (18).
Built at the end of the 13th century, it has preserved through the centuries its medieval military architecture, which gave it the role of a defensive stronghold, protecting the villagers against brigands and mercenaries.
The castle offers to the visitors multiple charms and reveals with discretion its attractions, particularly its weighbridge, as well as the moats which surround its enclosures, without forgetting its pleasure garden, which opens its alleys of yew trees and hornbeams on a pond.
Listed in the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques since June 2009, the castle La Grand’Cour is open to visitors all year round and also offers 2 guest rooms.
